Curfew in Rajbiraj after one dies in APF firing
The local administration in Saptari has clamped curfew in the district
headquarters Rajbiraj from 12 noon Friday in view of possible violence
during demonstrations organised by local people, protesting the police
firing this morning that left one person dead and four others injured.
Locals have been staging protest in the town despite the curfew orders,
reports said.
Akhilendra Yadav of Bishnupur VDC was killed when the an Armed Police
Force (APF) patrol opened fire following dispute with a group of locals
over the confiscation of chemical fertilizer they had illegally brought
form India.
The four persons injured in the firing, who underwent preliminary
treatment at the Sagaratha Zonal Hospital, have been taken to BP Koirala
Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for further treatment. nepalnews.com
