Oli claims Maoists aren't serious about PLA issues
UML leader K.P Sharma Oli has claimed that the Unified CPN (Maoist) is not
serious about integration and rehabilitation of its combatants while the
current government has taken this task seriously.
Speaking at an interaction programme organised by Press Chautari in
Biratnagar Saturday morning, Oli claimed that the real military strength
of the Maoists was around 1000. He further alleged t the Maoists of
sending non-combatants into the cantonments while real fighters were kept
outside.
Insisting that Maoists hired minors and youths into PLA to be confined in
cantonments, Oli said real fighters have been barred from receiving salary
and allowances from the government.
Oli, a staunch critic of Maoists, also stressed the need for seeking
diplomatic means to solve the border dispute with India instead of making
hue and cry in the streets.
The also alleged the Maoists of trying to establish autocratic communist
government, Oli said it is now impossible to form a new government under
Maoist leadership. nepalnews.com
