Search operation at Bhainse in Sindhupalchowk, where a passenger bus plunged into river on Thursday, continues on Friday as well.
Teams of Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and local people have been deployed in large numbers in the search operation. However, hopes of finding anyone alive have diminished.
Boats have also been mobilised as bodies have most likely been washed downstream by the swelling river.
Latest reports said at least 22 dead bodies have been recovered from the bus accident site along the Arniko highway.
A packed passenger bus with number plate Na-2-Kha 6228 on its way to Kathmandu from Jalbire, Sindhupalchowk, plunged into the Sunkoshi River at around 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
The number of passengers traveling in the ill-fated bus remains sketchy, but reports said there were at least 35 passengers. Identities of 18 out of 22 deceased have been confirmed.
Reports quoting the rescued passengers said excessive speed was the main cause of the accident. nepalnews.com
