With the drafting of the new constitution on the stipulated time frame not falling on the priority list of the political parties who have failed to find a way out of the parliament deadlock, the Constituent Assembly (CA) is all set to amend the calendar of events for the seventh time.

CA Chairman Subash Nemwang said on Monday that the CA meeting slated for Wednesday will reschedule the calendar of events.

Talking to reporters at his office, Nemwang said the CA Secretariat has made necessary preparations for amending the calendar of events at the CA meeting.

He, however, said the May, 2010 deadline for the promulgation of the new constitution will not be changed.

Similarly, there won't be changes in the deadline for collecting public opinions on the first draft of the new constitution.

Four thematic committees are yet to finalize their concept papers. nepalnews.com
