Student bodies warn of protest against TU fee hike

Thirteen student unions affiliated to various political parties have warned of agitation demanding a rollback on Tribhuvan University's
decision to hike tuition and other fees.

Submitting a memorandum to the vice chancellor on Tuesday, the leaders of the student unions said they would resort to street protests if their demand is ignored.

The student unions have served 72-hour ultimatum to TU authority to take back its decision to hike the fees by ten fold.

The student bodies said they would hold consultation with various stakeholders on Wednesday to seek alternatives to the hefty increase in fees. nepallnews.com

harulae matalab chhaina.
72hrs altimatum aru bhanda badi maobadi style

I wonder, why the student unions have to raise their coarse voice so much so
against TU's decision to hike educational fees to meet the present standard of
cost.

Either they should turn to their own leaders and ask them to arrange
free education upto all levels or let TU raise the fees to maintane its
expenses. Rather, I would praise if the Student Unions would work hand in hand
with TU in improving the academic standards in Nepal.

T.U shouldn't take back its decision. To hike fees, its has a right to do so.
Cannot believe ppl aren't capable of paying 500 rupees a month, but they can pay
those amount for the means of entertainment, so why not for their education?
This will help to reduce troublesome students enrollment in university and it
will be best way to upgrade the equality education.So go for it T.U.

If people cannot pay let it be. If you have to bring back your price, close the
university so that people who have need for education will come pay the teachers
at home. Providing cheap education without quality will not help graduates to
compete the advancement in education will not help the future. I say increase
the fees but give scholarships, students loan to needy students if they have
intention to study, TU has become a ground for politics in Nepal.

Dear brothers and sisters ... we have seen over the years how these Political
Animals have deprived us from tranforming us and our country to a gus civilised
society . these people have confiscated and murdered all our privileges and
murdered our future and our Love " our mother land ". But now these

it time govt. establish new university for education which should be controlled
by group of intelligent individuals, no politics allowed and would do whatever
is needed to provide best possible education.

should have guts to use army to
counter any kind of violent opposition.



TU have become useless, polluted
by politics and now terrorists have entered. not time has come to hand over TU
to the most violent student org.

This is a decision that TU made to stop the phohori ( Bad ) politics in the
university. I support TU for this decision. So called student union from various
parties only want to do politics and want to stop the progress of TU and
students. Those students are following these student unions who don't have good
knowledge in any subject because TU can not provide them good education. But
good student , who have good knowledge they are not following the so called
student union.
