The probe committee formed to investigate the currency note crisis submitted its report to Minister for Finance Surendra Pandey on Wednesday.

The report has held Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) officials responsible for the severe shortage of currency notes.

According to the report, inefficient management coupled with poor monitoring of currency note printing has much to do with the shortage.

Nepali financial institutions reeled under severe shortage of currency notes during Dashain and Tihar festivals.

Ministry of Finance (MoF) formed a three-member probe committee on October 7 under the leadership of Dr Mangal Siddhi Manamdhar to investigate currency printing process and distribution.

The report has prescribed viable measures to keep such situation at bay in future.

How can he do that without much knowledge on economics and financial Matters. Becoming aparty cadre of CPN UML isthe only criteria for heading the team? Is there a dearth of economists in this country??? Very Pathetic. I don't know How creditble is the report. Please note that the indited NRB officials are either crooks looking for an easy dough out of crisis or at the least they have proved themselves to be most incompetent for their respective jobs. These crooks have put Nepal to shame by creating a situation there by the people were compelled to use Indian currency in their own country,besides creating a false shortage of paper notes during festival.I like many others, had a hard time taking out my own money from my banks while I recently visited Nepal during Dusai.Better sack these bastards.
