Nepal’s hope to make it to the second round of the AFC U-19 Championship group ‘A’ qualifiers were shattered with a 2-3 loss to Jordan in the match played at Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu on Sunday.

With the loss, the host country has crashed out of the qualifiers.

In an exciting game, the Nepali team put up a strong fight against the strong Jordanian team throughout the game, coming from behind to equalize on two occasions.

Jordan got an early lead with a shot from Saleem Mahmoud on 25th minute. But just three minutes later, Nirajan Malla equalized for the hosts. Then Jordan came charging in with Subhib Adnan giving another lead for Jordan in the 37th minute. That was again nullified after half time with an equalizer from Shiva Shrestha in the 73rd minute.

But Jordan, despite being reduced to nine men after receiving two red cards for rough play, stunned the Nepali team and the stadium crowd cheering them with a goal from substitute Mohannad Mushab on the 88th minute.

The defeat leaves Nepal at the bottom of the table with Kyrgyzstan and has ended Nepal’s hope of qualifying for the AFC U-19 Championship.

In other matches played the same day, Kyrgyzstan beat Palestine 2-0 while Tajikistan went down to Yemen 3-0. nepalnews.com

Keep on playing to win. It is habit of losing, isn't it? Practice makes man
perfect. According to me player should be given more and more training regarding
their games.
