339 coronavirus cases reported on Monday; active cases falling to 3,000: MoHP

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Monday reported 339 new cases of coronavirus in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country’s COVID-19 tally to 269,789.

Of the newly infected, 133 are females while 206 are males.

Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have registered 154 cases of coronavirus — 133 in Kathmandu, eight in Bhaktapur and 13 in Lalitpur — in the past 24 hours. Of the newly infected, 59 are reported to be females and 95 others male. 

In the past 24 hours, 401 people diagnosed with the infection have recovered as per the data shared by the MoHP. Altogether, 264,538 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 as of today.

Currently, the country has 3,240 active cases with a 98.1 per cent recovery rate.

The ministry also reported the death of 10 persons from the disease in the last 24 hours. With this, the nationwide death toll from the disease has reached 2,011.

A total of 2,048,113 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests have been conducted in the country as of Sunday.

Likewise, 3,240 people have been reported to be staying in isolation while 132 others are in the quarantine facility in the country.

Earlier, the MoHP on Sunday had reported 270 new cases of coronavirus that had taken the country’s COVID-19 tally to 269,450.

More than 99.03 million people have been reported to be infected by the virus worldwide and at least 2,128,827 have died, a Reuters tally showed.
