Nepal Rastra Bank publishes updated foreign exchange rates

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has released the official foreign currency exchange rates for the day. According to the central bank, the US dollar is being bought at Rs 136.52 and sold at Rs 137.12.

The Euro stands at Rs 152.92 for buying and Rs 153.59 for selling, while the UK Pound Sterling is exchanged at Rs 181.50 and Rs 182.30, respectively. The Swiss Franc is set at Rs 163.11 for buying and Rs 163.82 for selling.

Among other major currencies, the Australian Dollar is valued at Rs 87.60 (buying) and Rs 87.99 (selling), the Canadian Dollar at Rs 97.77 and Rs 98.20, and the Singapore Dollar at Rs 15.12 and Rs 15.59.

The exchange rate for 10 Japanese Yen is Rs 9.38 on the buying side and Rs 9.42 on the selling side.

Similarly, one Chinese Yuan trades at Rs 18.95 (buying) and Rs 19.30 (selling), the Saudi Arabian Riyal at Rs 36.40 and Rs 36.56, and the Qatari Riyal at Rs 37.46 and Rs 37.62.

NRB has also determined the buying and selling rates for other currencies: one Thai Baht is set at Rs 4.10 and Rs 4.12, one UAE Dirham at Rs 37.17 and Rs 37.33, and one Malaysian Ringgit at Rs 31.78 and Rs 31.92.

One hundred South Korean Won is traded at Rs 9.78 for buying and Rs 9.82 for selling. The Swedish Krona is priced at Rs 13.88 and Rs 14.05, while the Danish Krona is at Rs 20.50 and Rs 20.59.

In addition, one Hong Kong Dollar is being exchanged at Rs 17.47 (buying) and Rs 17.55 (selling). Among Gulf currencies, the Kuwaiti Dinar is valued at Rs 444.17 and Rs 446.12, the Bahraini Dinar at Rs 362.15 and Rs 363.74, and the Omani Rial at Rs 354.62 and Rs 356.18. The rate for 100 Indian rupees is fixed at Rs 160 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling.

NRB has stated that these rates are subject to revision based on market conditions and that commercial banks may quote slightly different rates. The latest updates are available on the central bank’s official website.
