KATHMANDU: On the final trading day of the week, all indices of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a decline. The NEPSE index fell by 24.76 points compared to the previous day, settling at 2,628 points.
Despite the decline in the index, the total turnover increased. Compared to the previous day’s turnover of NPR 9.08 billion, today’s turnover reached NPR 11.23 billion. While the prices of 47 companies rose, 201 saw a decline.
All sectoral indices ended in the red. The trade sector witnessed the biggest loss with a drop of 2.47%. Likewise, banking fell by 0.50%, development banks by 1.12%, finance companies by 0.93%, hotels and tourism by 0.96%, hydropower by 1.34%, investment by 0.73%, life insurance by 0.41%, manufacturing by 1.01%, microfinance by 1.06%, non-life insurance by 0.34%, and others by 1.12%.
Among the notable gainers, Panchakanya Mai Hydropower’s share price increased by the daily maximum of 10%. Similarly, Middle Bhotekoshi Hydropower rose by 5.55%, Shivashree Hydropower by 4.04%, Panchthar Power by 3.59%, and Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company by 3.23%.
Conversely, three companies experienced the maximum allowable decline of 10%: Pure Energy, Rasuwa Gadhi Hydropower, and Bhugol Energy. Corporate Development Bank fell by 6.44%, and Saptakoshi Development Bank by 5.90%.
The most actively traded companies today included Ngadi Group, Butwal Power, Singati Hydro Energy, Sanima Mai Hydropower, and Radhi Bidyut Company.
