NEPSE drops by 10.98 points on Monday

KATHMANDU: The stock market index NEPSE fell by 10.98 points on Monday. After that decline, NEPSE has remained at 2,677 points. The market has fallen for the fifth consecutive day, including Monday. As the market declines, the trading volume has also decreased.

The previous day’s turnover was Rs 8.39 billion, but today it was Rs 6.96 billion. While the prices of 77 companies increased, 161 decreased while 6 remained unchanged.

Two sectors, others and trade, increased. Others increased by 0.23 and trade by 0.10 percent. Banking decreased by 0.17, development bank by 0.21, finance by 1.23, hotel and tourism by 0.17, hydropower by 0.76, investment by 0.45, life insurance by 0.61, manufacturing by 2.07, and microfinance by 0.27 percent. Non-life insurance remained stable.

The prices of Nyadi Hydropower and Guardian Microlife Insurance increased by 10 percent. Similarly, the prices of Nepal Republic Media increased by 8.84 and Saptakoshi Bikas Bank by 6.43 percent.

Bottlers Nepal Balaju and Upkar Laghubitta fell by 10 percent. Super Madi Hydropower fell by 8.24 percent, Samajwadi Laghubitta by 8.10 percent, and Upper Lohorekhola by 6.25 percent.

Based on transaction amount, Nepal Republic Media, CHDC, Saptakoshi Bikas Bank, NRN Infrastructure, and Nepal Reinsurance Company were the leading companies, respectively.
