KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has dropped by double digits. Today, the index dropped by 16.68 points to settle at 2,706.04.
According to the NEPSE, 21,123,967 shares of 328 companies were bought and sold 74,045 times, resulting in a turnover of Rs 8.433,389,785.
In today’s trading, the production and processing group increased by 0.52 and the trade group by 1.02 percent, while the sub-indices of all other groups decreased. Banking decreased by 0.70, Development Bank decreased by 0.79, Finance decreased by 1.27, Hotel and Tourism decreased by 1.36, Hydropower decreased by 1.22 and Investment decreased by 0.06 percent.
Similarly, life insurance decreased by 0.87, microfinance decreased by 0.54, mutual funds decreased by 0.23, non-life insurance decreased by 0.22 and other groups decreased by 1.03 percent.
The highest increase in today’s trading was in the share price of Nepal Micro Insurance Company Limited, which increased by 9.99 percent, while the lowest decrease was in the share price of Himalayan Power Partner Limited, which decreased by 7.33 percent.
In terms of trading amount, Radhi Vidyut Company Limited recorded the highest transaction today, worth Rs. 687.697 million. In terms of the number of shares traded, Balefi Hydropower Limited recorded the highest transaction of Rs. 2.483 million.
