NEPSE index sees slight improvement today

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which rose by a high number on the first day of trading this week, has seen only a slight increase today. Today, the NEPSE index increased by 2.41 points to stand at 2,730.

According to NEPSE, 23.77 million 348 shares of 317 companies were bought and sold 111,918 times, resulting in a transaction worth Rs. 11.87 billion 59.67 million.

In today’s trading, banking increased by 0.54 percent, life insurance by 0.67 percent, production and processing by 0.27 percent, microfinance by 0.10 percent, mutual fund by 0.78 percent, non-life insurance by 0.82 percent and trade by 0.79 percent. All other sub-indices decreased. Development Bank decreased by 0.39 percent, Finance by 1.07 percent, Hotels and Tourism by 0.01 percent, Hydropower by 0.48 percent and Investment Group by 0.47 percent.

The share prices of Upkar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Bhool Energy Company Limited have entered a positive ‘circuit’. Similarly, the share prices of Green Development Bank and River Falls Power Limited have entered a negative circuit.

In terms of transaction amount, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited has witnessed the highest transaction today with Rs 353 million 75 thousand. In terms of the number of shares traded, Barun Hydropower Company Limited has witnessed the highest transaction with 634 thousand 620 shares.
