KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has shown modest improvement. Today, the NEPSE index increased by 9.66 points to 2,676.28 points.
According to the NEPSE, 173,822 shares of 317 companies were bought and sold 45,094 times, resulting in a turnover of Rs 4.48 billion and 19,740 million.
In today’s trading, all sub-indices except banking and trade were in the green. The banking group decreased by 0.03 percent, and the trade group decreased by 0.40 percent. The highest increase was in hotels and tourism by 2.44 percent, investment by 1.48 percent, and production and processing by 1.36 percent.
Development Bank increased by 0.29 percent, Finance by 0.34 percent, Hydropower by 0.08 percent, and Life Insurance by 0.22 percent. Similarly, microfinance increased by 0.22 percent, mutual funds by 0.59 percent, non-life insurance group by 0.56 percent and other groups by 0.36 percent.
Nepal Micro insurance Company Limited’s share price increased by the most today by 9.98 percent. Sindhu Bikas Bank Limited’s share price decreased by the most by 8.05 percent.
In terms of transaction amount, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited had the highest transaction today, worth Rs. 427.68 million, 477 thousand. In terms of number of shares traded, Kumari Equity Fund had the highest transaction of 1 million 10 thousand, 176 units.
