KATHMANDU: The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has released the official foreign exchange rates for today, Thursday (May 22).

As per the update, the US dollar is being bought at NPR 136.73 and sold at NPR 137.33, marking a slight increase of 1 paisa compared to Wednesday’s rates of NPR 136.72 (buying) and NPR 137.32 (selling).

For other major currencies, 1 Euro is priced at NPR 155.03 for buying and NPR 155.71 for selling. The Pound Sterling is being bought at NPR 183.36 and sold at NPR 184.17. The Swiss Franc is trading at NPR 165.90 for buying and NPR 166.63 for selling.

Similarly, the Australian dollar stands at NPR 88.14 (buying) and NPR 88.53 (selling), while the Canadian dollar is at NPR 98.50 and NPR 98.93, respectively. The Singapore dollar is available at NPR 106.07 for buying and NPR 106.53 for selling.

In regional currencies, 10 Japanese Yen are being bought at NPR 9.52 and sold at NPR 9.56.

The Chinese Yuan is priced at NPR 18.98 (buying) and NPR 19.06 (selling). The Saudi Riyal is at NPR 36.45 and NPR 36.61, while the Qatari Riyal is trading at NPR 37.51 and NPR 37.68.

The Thai Baht is listed at NPR 4.17 for buying and NPR 4.19 for selling. The UAE Dirham stands at NPR 37.23 and NPR 37.39, while the Malaysian Ringgit is at NPR 32.02 (buying) and NPR 32.16 (selling).

For the South Korean Won, the rate for 100 units is NPR 9.94 (buying) and NPR 9.98 (selling). The Swedish Kronor is priced at NPR 14.28 and NPR 14.34, and the Danish Kronor at NPR 20.78 and NPR 20.88.

Additionally, the Hong Kong Dollar is trading at NPR 17.46 (buying) and NPR 17.54 (selling). The Kuwaiti Dinar has the highest value, with a buying rate of NPR 445.58 and a selling rate of NPR 447.53. The Bahraini Dinar is at NPR 362.66 and NPR 364.25, while the Omani Riyal is set at NPR 355.17 and NPR 356.72.

The exchange rate for 100 Indian Rupees is NPR 160.00 for buying and NPR 160.15 for selling. Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these rates may be adjusted as necessary, and that commercial bank rates may vary slightly. The latest rates are available on the central bank’s official website.
