KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said the related ministries are responsible for low capital spending.

At a ministry-level development action committee on Wednesday, Finance Minister Paudel urged the ministries to increase capital spending. “It seems the responsibility of capital spending is of Finance Ministry, but it is simply the ministry to facilitate guarantee and mobilization of resources. So, every ministry needs to own up implementation of budget,” he reminded.

He directed the employees to act promptly on clearing arrears, facilitating foreign investment, mobilizing resources, utilizing modern technology, and improving service delivery.

On the occasion, Acting Governor at Nepal Rastra Bank, Nilam Dhungana, claimed that national economy was restoring gradually with positive financial and monitory indicators.

Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyay said it was imperative to make regulatory action effective.

Revenue Secretary Dinesh Kumar Ghimire viewed internal good governance is the need of hour.
