DANG: Lumbini Province has announced a budget of Rs 38.91 billion for the fiscal year 2082/83.
The budget was presented by Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Dhanendra Karki during the Provincial Assembly meeting on Sunday.
Of the total outlay, Rs 23.47 billion (60.32%) has been allocated for capital expenditure. Recurrent expenditure accounts for Rs 12.01 billion (30.88%), while Rs 3.42 billion (8.8%) is earmarked for fiscal transfers.
The provincial government plans to finance the budget through various sources.
Internal revenue is projected at Rs 7.78 billion. Revenue sharing from the federal government is estimated at Rs 11.86 billion, with additional contributions from royalties (Rs 415 million) and local level revenue sharing (Rs 2.83 billion).
Lumbini Province expects to receive Rs 8.44 billion as fiscal equalization grants, Rs 4.66 billion in conditional grants, Rs 514 million in supplementary grants, and Rs 400 million in special grants.
A sum of Rs 2 billion will also be drawn from the provincial cash reserve to meet the funding needs.
