Police arrested an Indian national on the charge of raping a nine-year-old girl in Kirtipur Municipality-6 of Kathmandu district.

The accused has been identified as Mohamad Amir Ul (45) of Bihar, India. He had currently been residing in a rented room in Chobhar.

Acting on the tip-off about the heinous crime, a team of security personnel deployed from Kirtipur-based Metropolitan Police Circle arrested the accused on Saturday night from Chobhar.

Further investigation into the case is underway, informed police.
