Police on Thursday arrested a man on charge of raping a 27-year-old woman in Suryabinayak Municipality, Bhaktapur district.

The arrested accused has been identified as Bijaya Mahato (33) of Nalinchok in the district.

Mahato had raped the woman in a resort based at Chittapol on October 5. Acting on the tip-off, a team deployed from the Jagati-based Metropolitan Police Circle (MPC) apprehended Mahato.

Further investigation into the case is underway, informed MPC.
