One dead, three injured in Tinkune road accident involving three vehicles

KATHMANDU: A fatal road accident involving a bus, van, and motorcycle in Tinkune, Kathmandu, has left one woman dead and three others injured.

The victim, 23-year-old Nagina Tamang from Nuwakot, was riding a motorcycle when a bus (Ba 3 Kha 7062) en route to Ratna Park from Pepsi Cola hit a Maruti van and then struck her bike. She was rushed to the Trauma Center but died during treatment, police spokesperson Apil Raj Bohara confirmed.

Among the injured are motorcycle rider Padam Thapa Magar, 27, from Doramba, Ramechhap; van driver Ratna Bahadur Sarki, 35, from Mandandeupur, Kavrepalanchok; and Menuka Budhathoki, 24, a bus passenger from Gaurishankar, Dolakha.

Thapa Magar is undergoing treatment at the Trauma Center, while Sarki and Budhathoki are being treated at Kantipur Hospital.

According to police, the accident occurred when the bus first rammed into the van (Ba.Pr.01-026Ch 2927), which then collided with the motorcycle (Ba.Pr.02-3847). The bus driver, Ram Kumar Khadka, has been taken into custody along with the vehicles involved for further investigation.
