KATHMANDU: A fugitive leader of the CPN (Maoist Center) has been arrested in connection with a gold smuggling case.
Amala Roka, who had been on the run in connection with the 61-kilogram gold smuggling case, has been apprehended.
She was arrested today, Friday, from Tokha, Kathmandu, by a team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police.
Amala is the wife of Dawa Tshering, a Belgian national who was also arrested earlier for his involvement in the same gold smuggling case.
She is also a former vice-chairperson of the Rolpa-Kathmandu Contact Forum of the Maoist party.
