MAHOTTARI: Police in Mahottari seized 604 kg of marijuana from a truck during a routine inspection on the Bardibas-Jaleshwor road, local police said.

The truck (Province 2-04-001 Kha 0021) was stopped in Bhangaha Municipality-6, where police found 40 plastic bags of marijuana hidden in the hood, said police spokesperson Santu Jaiswal.

The driver, Ganesh Bahadur Bishwakarma of Katari-1, Udayapur, has been taken into custody. Further investigation is underway, said Nandakishore Prasad Chauhan, an official at the District Police Office.
