PALPA: The District Police Office in Palpa has reported a total of 53 cyber-related complaints over the past 11 months.
From February 19, 2024, to January 13, 2025, the office registered 53 complaints related to cyber issues, according to Superintendent of Police Narendra Chand. Among these, 16 cases involved Facebook ID hacking.
Of the cases forwarded as cybercrime, 17 have been resolved so far. The cybercrimes predominantly occur through social networking platforms and apps such as Facebook, Twitter (X), YouTube, Messenger, Emo, Instagram, Viber, and WhatsApp, among others.
SP Chand noted that the rise in cyber complaints is attributed to the rapid expansion of internet and IT infrastructure, increased use of digital devices, and limited digital literacy.
