KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba held discussions with Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Shmulik Arie Bass regarding the recent conflict between Israel and Iran and its impact on Nepali citizens residing in the region.

During a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bass briefed Minister Rana on the evolving situation following the hostilities between Israel and Iran.

In response, Minister Rana inquired about the condition of Nepali nationals currently in Israel and urged the Israeli government—through the ambassador—to ensure their safety and provide necessary support if required.

Ambassador Bass assured that Nepalis in Israel are currently safe.

Just on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had issued an official statement confirming that Nepali citizens in both Israel and Iran were reported to be safe amid the tensions.

Over the past few days, as conflict escalated between the two countries, Minister Rana personally contacted Nepal’s ambassadors based in Tel Aviv and Doha to instruct them to prioritize the safety and well-being of Nepali nationals.

The ministry’s statement also mentioned that the Nepal government is closely monitoring the developments and will take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of Nepalis based on necessity.
