KATHMANDU: Two of India’s most popular reality shows, Bigg Boss 19 and Khatron Ke Khiladi, are currently going through a tough time. The shows’ production company, Banijay Asia (formerly known as Endemol Shine India), has ended its partnership with Colors TV. As a result, the upcoming seasons are now in doubt, and preparations are still incomplete.
This sudden news has surprised fans and those involved with the shows. Reports say that internal issues within Banijay Asia caused the company to break ties with the channel. The disagreement reportedly started two months ago, and two weeks back, Banijay officially decided to step away from both shows.
So far, there has been no official statement from either Colors TV or Banijay Asia. Meanwhile, social media is buzzing with rumors that the shows may not air this year. Some sources say that the channel is now searching for a new production house to continue the shows.
Despite the concerns, sources say that Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi will not be canceled. However, they will likely be delayed. Colors is actively working to bring in a new producer, and both shows are still expected to air this year. With a new production house on board, viewers can expect fresh changes and new twists in both programs.
There are also rumors that Bigg Boss may move from Colors to Sony TV. Many believe Banijay’s decision to leave was influenced by the poor performance of Bigg Boss 18, which had low TRP ratings. The company was also reportedly unhappy with some biased decisions made during the last season, especially those related to certain contestants’ relationships.
Khatron Ke Khiladi was originally set to begin in the third or fourth week of July, but it has now been postponed to August. Additionally, there is no update yet about Bigg Boss OTT 4.
