KATHMANDU: A big-budget Chinese film is set to be shot in Nepal. 50 percent of the film ‘Live Forever and Never Die’ is set to be shot in Nepal. The film, which will be 50 percent shot in China, will have the remaining shooting in Nepal. Tourism entrepreneur Prabhakar Khadka informed that the film will be shot in Kathmandu, Chitwan and Lumbini in Nepal. Khadka is the Nepal coordinator of the film ‘Live Forever and Never Die’. The production of this movie directed by Heri started about five years ago. “Although there were some delays due to various reasons including the pandemic, the production team has now stated that the shooting of this film will be accelerated,” he said.

The film’s budget will be 250 million RNB (about 4.8 billion Nepali rupees). The first choice actors of the Chinese film industry will be in ‘Live Forever and Never Die’. The film production team, which consists of 20 people, is currently in Kathmandu. On the day of Holi festival, some scenes have been shot at the Hanuman Dhoka Durbar premises during auspicious times. The production team has shot Holi scenes to include Nepali culture. A team of 200 people will come to Nepal in August and shoot for about three weeks. The film will also feature popular Nepali actors.

He informed that it has not been decided who will be the Nepali artists, but they are talking to some artists. Khadka said that the production team was nervous about seeing the busy traffic in Nepal. “However, with the support of the local administration and local citizens, the production team is confident that the desired work can be completed within the stipulated time,” Khadka said. The production team plans to release ‘Live Forever and Never Die’ during the Chinese New Year (first week of February) in 2026. There are also plans to screen the film in Nepal.
