Controversial Church Scene in Sunny Deol’s Jatt Sparks Uproar, Producers Issue Apology and Remove Scene

KATHMANDU: Bollywood actor Sunny Deol’s highly anticipated film ‘Jatt’ has recently been released, and movie lovers are giving it a positive review. People especially liked the story and Sunny Deol’s character as ‘Jatt’. Randeep Hooda, who plays the villain, has also been praised for his performance. Though the movie is going strong at the box office, one of its scenes has triggered a massive controversy.

The scene shows Randeep Hooda standing in front of a cross in a church, and the devotees praying there get scared on seeing him. The Christian community found this scene offensive, which sparked a huge reaction. After the controversy, the film’s makers issued an apology and released a statement. According to India Today, they have removed the scene from the film.

In their statement, the producers explained, “We never meant to hurt anyone’s religious feelings. We are sorry for this, and we have quickly removed the scene. It wasn’t intended to offend anyone. For those whose feelings were hurt, we apologize.” Due to the controversy, an FIR (First Information Report) has been filed against Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, director Gopichand Malineni, and the producers in Jalandhar, Punjab. The FIR is filed under Section 299 of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with actions meant to cause harm.
