KATHMANDU: Actor Deepak Raj Giri has stated that he is not afraid to share a photo with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on social media.

He met the Prime Minister during a ceremony held at Baluwatar to announce the commencement of the Cinepa: Filming Studio construction. The photo, originally shared by Prime Minister Oli on Facebook, was later re-shared by Deepak. While doing so, Deepak made a satirical remark referencing past incidents where he was criticized on social media for posting photos with the Prime Minister.

Deepak wrote:
“Today’s photo…!!! Why post a photo with the Prime Minister? Now people will probably comment—‘you are this… you are that…’ and so on! But life shouldn’t be lived in fear of comments! Either have the courage to change the Prime Minister, or don’t feel insulted when someone respects the current one! Long live positivity…”

Previously, when artist Prakash Saput praised Prime Minister Oli, a trend to boycott his film Basanta emerged on social media. Referring to that context, Deepak used satire to criticize the trend of trolling those who post photos with the Prime Minister.
