KATHMANDU: The much-anticipated concert of popular singer Durgesh Thapa, scheduled for the 18th of Baisakh at the Hyatt Ground in Boudha, Kathmandu, has been postponed. According to Ashish Dahal, CEO of the organizing company Triangular Inc., the decision was made due to messages from several 12th-grade students, but no new date has been announced yet.
This comes amidst the ongoing teachers’ protests in Kathmandu demanding the implementation of the Education Act. As a result, the annual exams for 12th-grade students, originally set for the 11th of Baisakh, have also been rescheduled to the 21st of Baisakh.

Durgesh had previously refrained from attending other stage performances to focus on the concert preparation. However, with the postponement, he traveled to the Gulmi Festival by helicopter on Monday.

His latest song, “Dusman Herako Herai,” has garnered widespread attention, including making it to global trending. The track has now surpassed 70 million views on YouTube.
