KATHMANDU: Starting Friday, three films—including two Nepali productions—have been released across the country. The Nepali films ‘Khel’ and ‘Bhutan’, along with the Bollywood film ‘Oi Bhutni Ke’, have hit the screens. Additionally, the classic Bollywood film ‘Andaz Apna’ has been re-released.

As of Friday noon, the occupancy rate for all four films was low. Before 12 PM, occupancy for all these films was below 2%. Based on previous trends, a slight increase in footfall is expected during the afternoon and evening shows. It is anticipated that audience turnout might improve by evening.

‘Bhutan’ has been released with 110 shows, ‘Khel’ with 87 shows, and ‘Oi Bhutni Ke’ with 42 shows. Considering the pre-release buzz and theatrical presence, the number of shows is reasonable. Now, the box office performance of these films largely depends on strong word-of-mouth. The first weekend will be crucial in this regard.

‘Bhutan’ is a social drama featuring Haribansha Acharya, while ‘Khel’ is a mythical thriller starring Surakshya Panta.
