KATHMANDU: The Government of India has formally requested all streaming and OTT platforms operating in the nation such as Netflix, Disney, Spotify, and Apple Music to remove all material that has been produced in Pakistan. On Thursday, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a six-point directive wherein, following the Pahalgam attack, national security has taken precedence. According to this directive, platforms have been requested to remove all material that has been produced in Pakistan.
“The ministry has instructed all OTT platforms, media streaming services, and intermediaries in India to remove web series, films, songs, podcasts, and any other content which has originated in Pakistan with immediate effect,” the official statement added.
India had previously blocked access to social media accounts of Pakistani celebrities within the country. Pakistan has now retaliated with similar countermeasures.
