KATHMANDU: Nepathya is set to embark on a series of musical tours of Australia. In this first foreign tour of 2025, the band will perform in seven Australian cities over a month.
The Nepathya tour, which will begin in the federal capital Canberra on March 3rd, will conclude in Sydney on the 29th of the same month. In the meantime, the band will perform on stages in Perth, Brisbane, Hobart, Adelaide and Melbourne.
This is the seventh Australian tour series for Nepathya, a leading band that has been connecting audiences around the world who enjoy Nepaliness through folk rock.
‘Although Nepathya has been performing in Nepal and abroad since its inception, Australia was the first place where the band was given a special status,’ recalls lead singer and leader Amrit Gurung. ‘The warm love received from the audience there has left an unforgettable impression on every trip.’
This time, a 14-member group consisting of six band members and eight technicians and management will set off on their Australian tour.
This year’s first Nepathya concert will be held at the Royal Theatre at the National Convention Centre in the capital, Canberra. On March 9, the familiar sounds of Nepali folk rock will resonate in Perth’s ‘Metro City’. This city is the capital of the state of Western Australia.
After performing on the western coast of the country, the band will again reach Brisbane on the east coast. The performance will be held at ‘The Tivoli Hall’ in the capital of the state of Queensland on March 14.
Immediately after that, the team will travel to the southern island of Tasmania. Nepathya’s songs will be performed at the ‘Odeon Theatre’ in the capital Hobart on March 18. The band has previously performed at this hall.
The fifth performance will be held in Adelaide, the capital of the state of South Australia. The band will perform at the ‘Hindley Street Music Hall’ there on March 21.
The band will reach Melbourne, the capital of the state of Victoria, for the next concert. Nepathya will perform at the ‘Festival Hall’ there on March 24.
The next Nepathya tour will be in Sydney, the city with the largest fan base in the southern hemisphere.The Nepathya concert in Sydney, the capital and economic center of the first state of Australia, New South Wales, will be held at the ‘Hordern Pavilion’. This is the second time that Nepathya will be performing at this hall in Moore Park, where many world-famous artists have performed.
After experiencing a large audience in Sydney, the band will start preparing for their return home.
‘As always, this time too, we have specially selected songs for the performance in Australia, which has been receiving immense love from the audience,’ adds lead singer and leader Amrit, ‘Preparations are also underway to perform songs with a different setlist than before for the audience there.’
Amrit will be supported on stage by Dhruv Lama on drums, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Neeraj Gurung on guitar, Shanti Rayamajhi on drums, and Dinesh Raj Regmi on keyboards.
This is also the 25th year that Nepalaya has been associated with the band in terms of managing Nepathya. In the meantime, the band has performed 88 times in 46 cities in 17 countries so far.
