KATHMANDU: Former Miss Nepal and actress Nikita Chandak began her acting journey with the film Sanglo. Having acted in two films so far, she played a special role in this year’s Ravayan, where she performed a dance in one of the songs.
This year has been significant for Nikita. She is receiving positive feedback for her acting in the recently released film Rajagunj, which began screening on Thursday. Furthermore, she is now set to make her Bollywood debut with a project by the renowned Indian director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Nikita shared a picture with Bhansali on social media on Tuesday, announcing her debut in Indian cinema. She wrote, “I am extremely happy to be a small part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali Sir’s world. This couldn’t be a more perfect start to my first project in India.” Bhansali is currently directing Love and War, starring actors Ranveer Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and actress Alia Bhatt. The film is scheduled to release on March 20, 2026, and there is a strong possibility that Nikita will be featured in it. However, she has not disclosed further details about her role or the movie.
Nikita becomes the second Nepali actress to work with Bhansali. Previously, actor Manisha Koirala was featured with him in super-hits such as Khamoshi. Bhansali, being a director of period films like Devdas, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat, is amongst the most eminent directors of Bollywood.
Collaborating with Bhansali is a boon for any artist who wishes to leave an impact in Bollywood. Now, let’s see if Nikita can be successful in making a foothold in the Indian film world.
