Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai’s film Jodha Akbar was widely appreciated by fans for its captivating period drama and the on-screen chemistry between the lead actors.
Now, 17 years after its release, the film will be honored with a special screening at the 2025 Academy Awards.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, organizers of the Oscars, have announced a special screening of Jodha Akbar in March 2025. Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Jodha Akbar was released in 2008.
The historical romance saw Hrithik Roshan portraying Emperor Akbar, while Aishwarya Rai played the role of Jodhabai.
The film celebrated its 17th anniversary on February 15. To mark this occasion and continue the legacy of Jodha Akbar, the Academy will hold a special screening in Los Angeles. This is a significant moment for the film and its fans.

Recently, it was reported that the iconic lehenga worn by Aishwarya Rai in the film has been preserved by the Academy for a motion exhibition.
Designed by renowned fashion designer Neeta Lulla, the lehenga is part of the film’s lasting legacy.
Jodha Akbar is not only remembered for its grand sets and royal grandeur but also for its exceptional cinematography, costumes, and soundtrack.
In addition to Aishwarya and Hrithik, the film featured performances by Sonu Sood, Raza Murad, Ila Arun, Suhasini Mule, and Nikitan Dhir.
