KATHMANDU: The Nepali film ‘Rajagunj’, directed by Deepak Rauniyar, will be screened at the prestigious Harvard University in the US.
The event, organized by Harvard’s South Asia Institute, is scheduled for April 7 at the university’s Cambridge campus.
Following the screening, a discussion will be held with Director Rauniyar and Julie Mallozzi, Administrative Director of Harvard’s Film Studies Center and Professor of Art, Film, and Visual Studies.
This marks what is likely the first time a Nepali film will be screened and discussed at Harvard.
Set in Nepal’s Madhesh region, the film tells the story of the police’s search for two hill children who are kidnapped after being rescued.
The cast includes Asha Magarati, Nikita Chandak, Richa Sharma, Pashupati Rai, Dayahang Rai, Vijay Baral, and others.
The film is produced by Rauniyar and Magarati for Adi Films, Ram Babu Gurung for Bansuri Films, and Alan R. Milligan for Tannhauser Gate.
