KATHMANDU: The trailer of the upcoming Nepali film Unko Sweater, set for release on May 8 (Baisakh 26), has been officially unveiled. The launch took place during a special event at the Nepal Academy (Pragya Pratisthan) in Kathmandu, where singer Sujan Chapagain enthralled the audience with live performances.
It is the first full feature film of Artmandu Pvt. Ltd., filmed in Nepal’s eastern Panchthar district. The film, directed by Nabin Chauhan, takes the audience from Panchthar to West Bengal of India.
Director Nabin Chauhan wished to present a real-life cinematic universe with this film. Bipin Karki, who is a celebrated actor, and actress Miruna Magar are the central characters, and the plot is about their evolving love story.
The star-studded cast comprises of Alex Pars, Pariksha Limbu, Wilson Bikram Rai, Sunil Pokharel, Mao Tse Gurung, Prem Subba, Bhavana Khapangi, and Suraj Tamang, to mention a few.
The movie has been directed by Jhuma Limbu and Sujan Chapagain, and the script has been done by the director himself. Woolen Sweater attempts to depict Nepal’s cultural diversity, social contrasts, and the colorful fabric of everyday life.
The production team hopes the movie will be well received and perform well at the box office.
