Nepali filmmaker Shobhit Basnet, who has been residing in Australia recently, has attracted attention due to his frustration with the comedy reality show Comedy Darbar.

But what’s behind these repeated outbursts? His anger stems from the fact that the show did not promote his upcoming film, Rangi.

Previously, Shobhit had threatened to withhold promotional appearances for Rangi unless Jaykishan Basnet was invited as a guest on the show.

However, after a conversation with Comedy Darbar‘s director Vicky Agrawal, he deleted his post. But his frustration has not subsided.

In a fiery statement, he wrote: “While Rangi has won the love and support of audiences and the media, Comedy Darbar remains the only exception.

Looks like their team has a special soft spot for Namrata Shrestha—using her presence just to keep their own show running!” The irony? Namrata Shrestha, who hosts Comedy Darbar, is also the lead actress in Rangi!

Shobhit believes the show wouldn’t even support a film where its own host plays the main role.

With Rangi set to hit theaters on Falgun 2 (mid-February), all eyes are now on how this controversy will unfold.

The film is produced by Salon Basnet and directed by Suresh Nyaupane. Will Comedy Darbar finally acknowledge Rangi, or will the drama escalate further?
