TEHRATHUM: A total of 870 individuals benefited from a free health camp organized in Myanglung, the district headquarters, providing medical services to those suffering from heart-related issues.

The health camp, held recently by the Lions Club of Kathmandu and Buddha Universal, was technically supported by the Martyr Gangalal Heart Centre in Kathmandu.

Additional support came from lawmaker Sita Gurung, Myanglung Municipality, Nabil Bank, and various social organizations in the district.

Along with heart check-ups, attendees also underwent tests for diabetes and blood pressure. Heart patients from all six local levels visited the camp for the free health services offered.

Dr. Rabi Malla, Executive Director of the Gangalal Heart Centre, shared that individuals who require further treatment will receive free medical care at the Centre in Kathmandu.

The transport costs for the patients were covered by the Jayanti Memorial Trust.

A team of 18 specialist doctors, led by cardiologist Dr. Dipak Limbu, provided medical services at the camp.

The health camp aimed to offer essential, specialized medical services to heart patients who face difficulties in managing the cost and time needed for treatment in the city.

Myanglung Municipality Mayor Sanjay Kumar Tumbahamphe expressed gratitude to all parties involved in the successful organization of the heart camp.

Lawmaker Gurung noted that the camp was the result of a long-standing effort to bring such services to the community.
