TANAHUN: Byas Municipality in Tanahun has been officially recognized as fully vaccinated after completing the immunization of all eligible children within its jurisdiction.
This announcement was made during a special program held on Wednesday, following the successful vaccination of all children aged 16 to 59 months.
Laxmi Gurung, Public Health Inspector from the Municipality’s Health Branch, reported that 2,828 children between 16 and 23 months old have now received all necessary vaccines.
At the event, key figures—including Gandaki Provincial Assembly member Ashok Kumar Shrestha, District Coordination Committee Chief and Vaccination Coordination Committee Coordinator Shantiraman Wagle, Byas Municipality Mayor Baikuntha Neupane, and former Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission Dr. Jagadish Chandra Pokharel—signed a pledge to maintain full vaccination coverage and ensure the campaign’s long-term success.
In addition, political party representatives, healthcare workers, teachers, students, female community health volunteers, mothers’ groups, and women’s networks also expressed their commitment to sustaining the municipality’s vaccination efforts.
