KATHMANDU: A representative team including relevant ministries and yoga gurus held a discussion today with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli regarding preparations to celebrate the 11th International Yoga Day in a grand manner.

At the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar, the main organizing committee formed from all three levels of government to celebrate the Yoga Day briefed Prime Minister Oli about the ongoing preparations.

Prime Minister Oli urged that since Nepal is the land of yoga and knowledge, yoga should be developed as a lifestyle and linked with the “Healthy Nepal Campaign” for program implementation.

The discussion was attended by Education, Science and Technology Minister Raghuji Panta, founder of the Life Science Institute LP Bhanu Sharma, Guru Ramesh Nepal, Member-Secretary of the main organizing committee Shiva Kumar Sapkota, among others.

This year’s International Yoga Day, celebrated every June 21 (Asar 7 in Nepali calendar), will follow the motto “Yoga for Human Health Across the Globe.”

On June 12, a meeting held at the Ministry of Education with Ministers Panta and Badri Pandey from Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation formed the main organizing committee under the coordination of Minister Panta.
