LALITPUR: President Ramchandra Paudel observed the Bhoto Jatra of Rato Machhindranath, the god of rain and prosperity.

On Sunday afternoon, he attended the traditional festival held at Jawalakhel in Lalitpur.

Employees of the Guthi Sansthan, Lalitpur, displayed the sacred vest (bhoto) during the event.

According to tradition, the bhoto is shown on the fourth day after the chariot of Machhindranath reaches Jawalakhel from Lagankhel.

On this occasion, President Paudel also received blessings from the living goddess Kumari, along with Rato Machhindranath.

The event was attended by Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers, heads of constitutional bodies, representatives of diplomatic missions, and a large number of the general public.
