Police in Sunsari district on Tuesday arrested an absconding rape accused from Inaruwa Municipality-3.
The accused allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl.
The accused has been identified as Pramod Mehta (34), a local resident of the same municipality in the district.
Mehta allegedly raped the girl on May 17. Security personnel deployed from the Sunsari-based District Police Office (DPO) nabbed the accused during a search operation from Gadhi Rural Municipality.
Further investigation into the case is underway, informed DPO, Sunsari.
