Call to run bodies meant for uplift of Badi, backward communities

KATHMANDU:  The Dalit leaders today staged a demonstration at the local Maitighar Mandal today, demanding that the committees meant for the operation of neglected, suppress and Dalit communities be operated.

The demonstration was held on the initiation of the Nepal Backward Class (OBC) Federation). They called for a prompt operation of the Neglected, Suppressed and Dalit Community Upliftment Community, OBC Upliftment Development Committee and the Badi Community Upliftment Development Committee.

OBC Federation Chair Gajendra Thakur stressed the need of fulfilling posts lying vacant at all three bodies and ensuring their operations. He also demanded the reinstatement of employees who worked for long for the committees.

The implementation of the OBC reservation with an endorsement of National Inclusive Commission’s recommendation to expand the list of backward committees and implement agreements reached between the government and with the OBC Federation and other communities.
