KATHMANDU: The report on the Federal Civil Service Bill has been officially tabled in the House of Representatives. Chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Ramhari Khatiwada, presented the report during the House session.

On May 28, 2024, the House had decided—according to the House Regulations—to send the Federal Civil Service Bill, 2024 to the relevant committee for clause-wise discussion with proposed amendments.

During the clause-wise deliberations, the Minister representing the Government of Nepal explained the purpose, justification, and rationale behind the bill during the committee meeting held on September 5, 2024.

A total of 1,530 amendment proposals were registered on the bill. Chairperson Khatiwada informed the House that the committee and its subcommittees held 47 meetings in total before finalizing the report.

He also claimed that this bill is the most significant legislative proposal since the promulgation of the Constitution.
