KATHMANDU: The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court has completed hearings on the appointment dispute involving 52 officials in various constitutional bodies.
The Bench has scheduled the verdict for Jestha 28 (June 11). Before that, it has ordered the concerned parties to submit their written arguments by Jestha 16 (May 30).
The Supreme Court administration informed that the hearing on the case has finally concluded.
This four-year-old dispute, which has been under continuous hearings recently, is now ready for a decision.
The appointments were made twice, four years ago, during KP Sharma Oli’s tenure as Prime Minister, appointing 52 people to various constitutional bodies, including the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
Claiming the appointments were illegal, Advocate Om Prakash Aryal filed the first writ petition.
An additional 14 petitions were filed on the same issue, which were heard together.
