The cases of the second wave of COVID-19 have been recorded to be on the descending order in Dadheldhura for a week.

According to the District Health Office, Dadheldhura Chief Ashutosh Shrestha, the infection rate has stood at 15% to 20 % for the past one week against 40 per cent earlier.

This was found out after the study on the total PCR and antigen tests conducted among the suspected ones and the results coming out negative.

The decrease in the infection rate could be attributed to compliance with health safety measures, opined Shrestha. He also viewed that effective enforcement and compliance with prohibitory order could have also largely played a role in the decline of the infection rate of the flu-like infection.

The health facilities in the district have also begun to receive a lowering number of people suspected and infected with a deadly infection. Many health facilities here have recorded the number of COVID-19 patients dropping by 50 per cent since a week.

COVID-19 infection is reported more in rural areas than the urban ones in the district. Hence, more and more tests were being conducted in those affected areas, said Shrestha.
