The Election Commission has sought clarification from Janata Samajwadi Party candidate in Banke Constituency-2 for House of Representatives member, Mohammad Ishtiyaq Rayi.

EC sought clarification from Rayi based on the complaints of derogatory statements. A complaint was filed charging Rayi of giving a disrespectful statement against Chairperson of Duduwa rural municipality, Surendra Chaudhary (Pappu) in the course of election campaigning.

Rayi was directed to furnish a written response at the Election Commission or the District Election Office, Banke.
