KATHMANDU: The Flood Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued another alert today, warning of possible floods across various districts of Nepal.

According to the department, 37 districts stretching from east to west, including surrounding areas, face potential flood risks due to rising water levels in small rivers.

These include Ilam, Dhankuta, Tehrathum, Okhaldhunga, Bhojpur, Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Sindhuli, Khotang, Kavre, Makwanpur, Salyan, Gorkha, Tanahun, Syangja, Lamjung, Kaski, Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi, Jajarkot, Baitadi, Darchula, Bajhang, Doti, Dadeldhura, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Banke, Dang, West Rukum, East Rukum, Rupandehi, and Pyuthan.

Among these, 14 districts have been issued yellow alert— indicating a moderate level of risk. These are Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Sindhuli, Khotang, Syangja, Lamjung, Kaski, Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi, Doti, and Dadeldhura.

The Division said that while major rivers like Koshi, Narayani, Karnali, Mahakali and their tributaries — along with Eastern and Western Rapti, Kankai, Kamala, Bagmati, and Babai — are expected to remain below the warning level for the next three days, water levels may fluctuate. People living near riverbanks are urged to remain cautious.
