KATHMANDU: Former King Gyanendra Shah has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir, India, which targeted Hindu pilgrims and resulted in the deaths of 28 individuals, including a Nepali citizen.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the former king expressed deep sorrow over the attack, which he described as a shocking and heinous crime against humanity and the Hindu community. “No matter how strongly we condemn this tragedy, it will never be enough to express the magnitude of the loss,” Shah said.
He further emphasized the core beliefs of Sanatani Vedic Hindus, citing the principle of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ — the idea that the world is one family. “Committing such crimes against these values is not only a sin but a grave violation of our religious and human principles,” he stated.
The former king also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, including the Nepali citizen who lost their life in the attack. He extended his sympathy to the Indian government and all those affected by this tragedy.
