Government calls striking teachers for talks again

KATHMANDU: The government has called for renewed talks with the striking teachers in an effort to resolve their ongoing protests.

Since April 2, teachers have been demonstrating on the streets of Kathmandu. In this context, newly appointed Minister for Education, Raghuji Panta, has called the teachers for talks.

In a statement, Minister Panta said, “There are certain legislative and legal arrangements for the bill to be presented, discussed, and approved in Parliament, and everyone is aware of this.

He further added, “Therefore, on behalf of the Government of Nepal, I sincerely invite the National Committee of the Nepal Teachers’ Federation to engage in continuous dialogue and discussion, as done in the past, to collectively find solutions to the issues.
